Code of Conduct
Our Policy:
Any misconduct that occurs during one of our events will be reviewed by myself and present coaches/staff and could possibly lead to suspension or expulsion of your participant(s).
Instances of misconduct include any form of abuse directed at anyone or by anyone (players, parents, coaches, officials) and will not be tolerated in any capacity. Additionally, aggressive penalties or fighting by players are considered violations of this policy. Lastly, anyone who enters the ice surface that is NOT a USA Hockey certified coach, referee, or volunteer will be removed from the facility and face possible expulsion from the program.
Parents/Spectators: As a parent, the biggest influence on your kids during hockey games is your behavior. Please manage your emotions around the rink. Keep language appropriate around the kids as anything you say they will pick up on. Inappropriate and expletive language will not be tolerated in any capacity at RRYHA events. This includes the locker rooms, spectating areas, benches, and Body Zone facility as a whole. Finally, be supportive of our volunteer coaches, they are here to provide your child with the best opportunity possible. For any misconduct by any spectator, we will be using the Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association (AAHA) policy of a MINIMUM of a thirty-day suspension from any future game or practice held by the RRYHA/Jr. Royals. Parents, if you have any questions or concerns you would like to discuss following a game or practice, please inform a coach or member of the Royals organization, and an appointment will be scheduled for you to sit down with our staff. At no point is a parent, guardian, or spectator to approach an official, or volunteer coach.
We have also designated areas for all parents and spectators. A map of these areas is attached above. Parents will only be permitted in the walkway between benches and locker rooms prior to and following games. Reminder: Parents at NO time are allowed on the ice unless they are USA Hockey certified AND given prior permission to do so by a Royals staff member.
Coaches: Coaches are reminded that their behavior affects the player's behavior greatly. If any misconduct is done by the coaches, our referees and staff have been instructed to remove them from the game, as we will not tolerate any misconduct of any kind.
Players: Coaches, please talk to your players and if they begin to play aggressively, stop it instantly. Coaches are permitted to sit any player behaving aggressively if they feel they could be a danger to other players. ANY aggressive penalty of any kind will result in the player being taken to the bench, and a penalty shot being awarded to the other team (Half-Ice), or a penalty being called (Full- Ice). This will be a first offense, and any following offense will result in removal from the game and possible suspension or expulsion based on the severity of the offense. ANY fighting of any kind will result in immediate removal from the game and suspension for upcoming practices and games. This includes both fighting on the ice, as well as on the bench.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out to one of our staff members.
