Learn To Play Hockey

Learn the game of hockey, develop your skills and receive a jersey upon registration during the Reading Royals six-week Learn to Play program, presented by Visions Federal Credit Union!

Beneficial for all positions at all skill levels! We offer TWO Learn to Play Age Groups, see below for more info!

LION CUBS LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY

The Lion Cubs Learn to Play Hockey Program is designed for beginner and intermediate players ages 4-9!

This program is designed to introduce and continue to develop fundamental hockey skills to players with 0-5 years of experience!

Lion Cubs will skate during the 11am-12pm slot!

LTP- INTERMEDIATE SKILLS GROUP

The Intermediate Skills Group is designed for players 10-16, who are looking for a weekly ice session to continue to develop and hone their hockey skills!

This session will feature full ice concepts, advanced drills, and begin exposing players to more advanced hockey skills.

The Intermediate Group will skate during the 12:30-1:30pm slot!

Ages:

Players ages 4 to 9 are accepted to our Lion Cubs Programs. Players ages 10-16 are accepted to our Intermediate Group!

Special cases can be made for ages outside the above by contacting jgriffith@royalshockey.com

Skill Level:

It is strongly encouraged that players complete Basic 1 and Basic 2 of the Learn to Skate Program prior to beginning Lion Cubs.

Exceptions may be made if the player is evaluated by our Director of Youth Hockey prior to registering!

When:

Learn to Play is a year-round program that offers sessions consisting of six weeks of practice. Each session is geared toward developing each young athlete's skill set in a safe and fun environment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I only pay for one or two weeks of practice?

We do offer a higher pro-rated option if you can only attend three sessions or less. Contact jgriffith@royalshockey.com for more information.

What gear do I need to register?

Skates, helmets, shin & elbow pads are required. Limited loaner equipment is available by contacting jgriffith@royalshockey.com.
